The true weight And the heaven He rated and imposed the balance
I have presented this true weight to you, O seeker, so that the truth may become clear and falsehood may perish, as the Scholar indicated in the book (Al-Asus), saying:
Everything that does not resonate with one another is false, and everything that reports about its companion is false until the Truth is known—which, if it is absent from you, remains before your very eyes. The balance is known from its end to its beginning, and the middle of the matter is known through the Balance. There are three balances that do not replace one another because Truth is balanced while Falsehood is contradictory. The Truth upholds its balance, while Falsehood destroys its own.
The Seeker said: Inform me of the Balance of Truth so that I may weigh with it, for Falsehood has a contradictory balance.
The Scholar said: The balance of Opinion [Zann] corrupts, the balance of Illusion [Wahm] changes, but the Balance of Truth remains steadfast.
I say: Allah (the Exalted) pointed to this meaning by His saying: {And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance, that you not transgress within the balance. And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance} (Ar-Rahman 7-9).
