If not for the Name,

they would not have known the Named.

And if not for his Name,

they would not have unified Him.

Coupling the command of prayer with the command of Zakat

This is because he is the Intellect by which Allah's command and prohibition are understood. Know that all of this is by the command of the Meaning, His will, His success, and His support, as Al-Sayyid al-Makzun (may Allah sanctify him) said in his poetry: "There is none other than you to guide you." Rather, His complete and perfect justice necessitated the existence of those mediators due to the need for them, just as His justice necessitated that He be known without perception and seen without movement. This is because knowledge is the good that He (the Exalted) desires, and lack of knowledge is the evil that He (Glory be to Him) forbade.
