Al-Sadiq—peace be from him—said: "There is no one poor in wealth except the Faqir [truly poor], and he is the one who is lacking in knowledge."

This is supported by his saying, peace be upon him: "The happy one is not he whose worldly life is clear for him; rather, the happy one is he whose Gnosis [Ma'rifa] is sound and whose certainty [Yaqin] has increased in his ancient time."
