I will cite for you, O seeker, from the clarification of the meanings of Zakat what the author of (Al-Risala al-Misriyya) cited in explaining the meanings of these verses from his master. He said:
This is clear in the Book of Allah, where He (Glory be to Him) says: {And establish prayer and give zakat and bow with those who bow} (Al-Baqarah 43). The Prayer: [Refers to] the Name [Muhammad]; He said: "Know it." The Zakat: [Refers to] the Gate [Salman]; He said: "Know him."
And know that he is not separate from the Name, and that the knowledge of it [the Name] is not complete except through the knowledge of its Gate. If he establishes the prayer and pays the zakat inwardly and outwardly, he is a true believer.
Salman, there is none other than him
To the Messenger a guide.
Because even if he arrived from the land of Persia and appeared to be a non-Arab [Ajam], there is no gate or guide to the Messenger other than him.
