the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days} (Qaf 38). This is an earth that must be neither praised nor censured, because He did not mention a praised or censured action for it, nor is there a context with it that necessitates praise or censure.

NoticeTanbih). The meaning of the earth must neither be praised nor condemned

Notice: Know, O inquirer, that what is intended by his saying: "This earth must be neither praised nor censured," means that He, the Exalted, does not intend by its mention the clarification of its praise or censure, but rather intends the clarification of its emergence by means of the six existences. As for what is intended by the terms neglected, praised, and censured, it is according to what is intended by the locus of the discourse coupled with that name regarding persons or knowledges, whether they be praised, censured, or neglected—not regarding the owners of the names of these outward forms, such as the name of food and drink, and the name of the pig, the name of wine, the dog, the earth, the cow, the tree, and what is similar to that.
