It is not permissible for us to make the parable [Mathal] identical to the symbolized [Al-Mamthul]—may Allah protect us and the believers from that. In summary, I say: if it were permissible for us to believe in the outward forms of these acts of worship which are transient, worldly, and newly-invented images and parables, then it would be permissible for us to believe in the outward forms of all other prayers and acts of worship that He (the Exalted) manifested in every Dome and Manifestation. Just as it is mandatory for us to believe in every one of His (the Exalted) manifestations, not in the final manifestation alone, according to the saying of the Knower [Al-Alim]—peace be from him:

"Whoever knows the Truth from one aspect and denies it from another has been ignorant of the prayers and acts of worship in every Dome and Manifestation."

Likewise, it is mandatory for us to reject belief and religious devotion to their outward forms in every Dome and Manifestation, measure for measure and weight for weight.

Know that the variation in the outward forms of these acts of worship indicates that the intent behind their outward forms is the Inward Meanings and Persons.
