Just as He (the Exalted) did not manifest to us with these human attributes and the fifteen states [Al-Halat al-Khams Ashara] in order for us to believe and profess those attributes and states, and establish them upon Him (the Exalted)—as the people of disbelief and misguidance did in every Dome and Manifestation—rather, He (the Exalted) showed us these states and attributes upon Himself as a kindness and mercy for the sake of familiarity [Mu'anasa], teaching, and refinement, as the virtuous master scholar Sheikh Ibrahim al-Tusi—may Allah sanctify him—said in his Ayniyya poem:
He appeared among His creatures in a form like their kind
To make them feel at ease; for like is to like obedient.
And just as it is mandatory upon us to establish the Spiritual Power [Al-Qudra al-Ma'nawiyya] which does not change, vanish, or have limits, and to negate from Him (the Exalted) what He showed us of the sketches, images, names, attributes, and all the fifteen states that He manifested upon Himself (Glory be to Him) in every Dome and Manifestation—so it is mandatory upon us to establish what He (the Exalted) intended of the inward realities of these prayers and to negate belief and religious devotion to their outward forms; we perform them only for teaching and refinement, and at the time of need and necessity.
