He has not exited his state of Ihram, nor have the shackles and burdens fallen from him, nor has the "beast of livestock" become lawful for him.

Among what our Master Jafar al-Sadiq has bestowed upon us of the clarification of examples and indications pointing to religious gnoses, is what the Monotheists [Muwahhidun] cited from him in the inward books of interpretations, by their saying:

It was narrated in some reports on the authority of the Master al-Sadiq that he said regarding the outward newborn: "He does not inherit nor is he inherited from until he raises his voice [Istihlal]."

In the outward, this refers to his shouting and crying; but in the inward, his "raising of the voice" is his articulation of Monotheism [Tawhid]. If he articulates it, he inherits and is inherited from—receiving the knowledge from his Master. In the outward, [it is marked] by Tahnik [rubbing the palate] as people do with their hands; the inward of that is to be instructed in the Science of Monotheism. Cutting his umbilical cord [Surra] is the cutting away of the Outward Science from him, until he utilizes the science of the Inward, and after Monotheism [Tawhid] there is no need for anything of the Outward. He waits for seven days of the Inward days, which is his drinking and nourishment from seven springs.
