This is the Prophet’s "cloaking" [Talbis] of the people of the outward laws, wherein he showed them his image while he was cloaking the people of the outward—showing them and speaking to them according to what their intellects would accept, for they have been the leaders of rejection and denial since the Day of Atoms [Yawm al-Dhar] and the Shadows. May Allah deliver us from the evil of their misguidance, denial, and disbelief.

The outward schools of thought are merely the Sharia (divine law) of the people of the manifest.

I say: It is benefited from the words of this virtuous master and practicing scholar that these outward schools [Madhahib] are merely the Law of the People of the Outward, which was imposed upon them in this Muhammadan Dome [Qubba], just as the Law of the Christians was imposed in the Christic Dome, the Law of the Jews in the Mosaic Dome, and the Law of the Sabians in the Abrahamic Dome.
