The Answer: Among what was narrated in the book (Realities of the Secrets of Religion), its original narration being from the Master al-Sadiq, is that he said: The commands and prohibitions that the Prophets commanded in the three laws—in the Torah, the Gospel, and the Furqan [Quran]—are persons whom Allah commanded to be known and obeyed, and persons whom Allah forbade and commanded to be avoided. For He is more Sublime, Mightier, and more Noble than to place His obligations, laws, commands, and prohibitions in a private part, or a urinary tract, or the eating of pig meat which results in waste—a thing that neither benefits nor harms. And Allah intended by His saying: {Wash your faces} to mean: Know the Mim [Muhammad], for he is the master of the laws...
And {your hands}: meaning, verify his Gates [Abwab] and know his Orphans [Aytam].
And {wipe over your heads}: meaning, know that the Veil [Hijab] is the head of the Kingdom.
And he—may Allah sanctify him—excelled and did well in what he cited of this meaning in his book titled (The Book of Support regarding the Particulars of Monotheism), which contains a question regarding the outward prayer performed openly among the commoners: Is its performance permissible for the believer, and is he commanded and charged with performing it, or not?
