Thus, you must rely on both states together: establishing the outward among its people and maintaining ties with your brothers. Strive to avoid your enemies in religion—the dissenters—and beware of mixing with any of them. Isolate yourself from them as much as you can; do not advise any of them, nor eat or drink with them, for that is prohibited to you.
It was also narrated in this chapter on the authority of the wise Muhammad ibn Sinan, who said: I asked my Master al-Sadiq—peace be from him—about the saying of Allah the Exalted: {Say, "Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah which He has produced for His servants and the good things of [His] provision?" Say, "They are for those who believe during the life of this world, exclusively [for them] on the Day of Resurrection"} (Al-A'raf 32).
He said: When the believer establishes the Monotheism [Tawhid] of Allah and the knowledge of Him, Allah makes permissible [Abaha] for him everything of the affairs of this world and the hereafter.
Similar to this is what our Sheikh established in the (Book of Contracts [Kitab al-Uqud]), saying: As for the contracts which Allah commanded to be fulfilled, they are that there is no outward deed except that it has an inward person.
So whoever knows the persons of the deeds [rituals] in their true reality, the obligation of their outward form falls away from him.
