of the units (Rak'at) of each obligatory prayer among them are according to the number of the letters of his name. Whatever is beyond that of the supererogatory prayers (Nawafil) is the completion of fifty-one units, as the Sheikh said the Infallible Abu Abd Allah al-Khasibi (may Allah brighten his face) stated in his epistle in prose, and recorded it in his Diwan in verse. In the prose, he said:

The First Time: The Prayer of Declination (Zuhr): Its supererogatory prayer (Nawafil) consists of eight units (Rak'at), and they are: al-Qasim, al-Tahir, Abd Allah, Ibrahim, Zaynab, Ruqayya, Umm Kulthum (whose name is Amina), and Fatima al-Zahra. These are the children of the Messenger of Allah from Khadija, except for Ibrahim, for he is from Maria the Copt. The obligatory part (Fard) consists of four units, and they are: Muhammad, Fatir [Fatima], al-Hasan, and al-Husayn.

The Second Time: The Afternoon (Asr): Its supererogatory prayer consists of eight units, and they are: Abd Allah, Muhammad, and Awn (the sons of Ja'far al-Tayyar ibn Abi Talib); Abu Sufyan, Ja'far, Muhammad, and Abu al-Hayyaj (the sons of al-Harith ibn Abd al-Muttalib); and Muhammad ibn Abi Hudhayfa.

The obligatory part consists of four units, and they are: Muhammad, Fatir, al-Hasan, and al-Husayn.
