The Right Hand indicates this specifically because of the emergence of crafts from it, for the Hijab is the one who crafted all crafted things and brought forth the creation of creatures.

The fingers of the left hand represent Abdullah ibn Rawaha, Uthman ibn Maz'un, Qanbar, and the two Walis. Washing them to the elbows (Al-Marafir) signifies the knowledge of the connection of the Twelve Nuqaba (Chiefs) to the Orphans (Al-Aytam). These [Nuqaba] include: Abu al-Haytham Malik ibn al-Tayyihan al-Ash'ali, al-Bar ibn Ma'rur al-Ansari, al-Mundhir ibn Amr ibn Kinas al-Sa'idi, Rafi' ibn Malik al-Ajlani al-Zuraqi, and Asad ibn Husayn al-Ash'ali and al-Abbas ibn Ubada, Ubada ibn al-Samit al-Nawfali, Abdullah ibn Umar ibn Hiram al-Ansari, Salim ibn Umair al-Khazraji, Ubayy ibn Ka’b, Rafi’ ibn Warqa’, and Bilal ibn Rabah al-Shanawi.

These are the names of the Nuqaba (Chiefs) of the Lord of the Worlds—living who do not die, rich who do not experience need, who do not inhabit bodies, and do not taste pain. Through knowing them, the soul is purified and connects to the World of Sanctity.

Wiping the feet represents the knowledge of the station of the two Orphans: Sa’sa’a ibn Sawhan al-Abdi and his brother Zayd, the sons of Sawhan al-Abdi.
