to his companions: Yes, strike them, for they have worshiped Satan and disbelieved in Allah the Merciful.
And Satan is praised in one aspect and censured in another. The censured Satan is the one who rebelled against Allah, and the praised is the one who punishes the human being, according to the saying of the Exalted: {And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that, and We were their guardian} (Al-Anbiya 82). And Allah does not guard except a believer; so these praised devils are the people of the ranks of the Great World... and the saying of the Exalted: {That We have sent the devils upon the disbelievers, inciting them with incitement} (Maryam 83).
The Station (Al-Maqam) and the Caller (Al-Dai)... And the difficult and the intractable (Al-Sab Al-Mustasab) O Messenger.
And the "Az" (incitement) is the cursing, and the censured devils are the censured world, and they are Iblis and his soldiers.
Likewise, there are praised Jinn and censured Jinn. The praised Jinn are those who are hidden from the world by knowledge, and they are spirits without bodies.
The censured Jinn are the metamorphosed ones (al-Masukh), and they are spirits and bodies.
