is a matter that requires proof among the people of gnosis, and it is only cited to strengthen the weak-ranked through it.

The meaning of Ablution (Wudu) in the inward (Batin) is the knowledge of the Rank of those whose stations are indicated by the limbs ordered to be washed—from the manifestations of the Intellect (Aql) and the stations of its holiness in the worlds of sense and sanctity. The reason these limbs indicate those high stations is that Man is a Microcosm (Alam Saghir) stripped from the Macrocosm (Alam Kabir); for there is nothing in the two worlds, whether dense or subtle, except that its likeness exists within him. He is the Middle Rank that gathers between Light and Darkness, sharing with animals in the mixture of his body and sharing with angels in his intellect and knowledge.

In the outward matter, he is the Meeting of the Two Seas (Majma' al-Bahrayn) where the spiritual and the physical convene. Since he is in this position, it is obligatory for him to know through his limbs and organs what corresponds to them in the Luminous World.
