used to narrate from the Master al-Sadiq and met him and spoke to him directly, yet did not bear his knowledge while following him in the outward, so he conceals the outward science from the Murji'ites; thus he has possessed the outward science and turned away from the Inward.

And from al-Mubarak, from Muhammad, from Ahmad bin Muhammad, from al-Husayn bin Abd al-Rahman bin Hamran bin A'yan, from his father, who said: Abu Abd Allah al-Sadiq said: Indeed, the angels sit, converse, and mention our merit, and when one who cannot bear it arrives, they cease. I said: May I be your ransom! Are there among the angels those who cannot bear your merit? He said: Yes, by Allah, and among the angels is he who does not equal a bunch of greens.

Then he said: Poverty is of two types: praised poverty and censured poverty.

The praised is asceticism in the world and relinquishing it.

The censured is ignorance, and ignorance is disbelief and the science of the Opposite.

Likewise, there is praised wealth and censured wealth. The praised is the knowledge of Allah, and the censured is the one who considers himself self-sufficient through the science of the Opposites away from the People of Truth.
