The woman said to him, "Sir, you have no bucket and the well is deep. From where then do you have this living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?" Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again. But whoever drinks of the water that I give him shall not thirst forever; rather, the water that I give him shall become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life." The woman said to him: "Sir, give me this water, so that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw." Jesus said to her: "Go, call your husband and come here."

This proves the inward (Baten) and negates the outward (Zahir) by the Messiah’s confirmation that the "Water" is the Knowledge (Ilm) through which eternal life is attained. The Exalted indicated in Surah Al-A'raf that this Water is forbidden to the disbelievers in the aforementioned verse, which confirms that His (the Exalted) intent by "water" and "sustenance" are Luminous Persons and religious cognitions forbidden to the disbelievers. This is because Paradise contains no [physical] water, food, or any of the worldly things.
