The "Thing" (Al-Shay') is a believer of the faith, righteous, pious, and connected.
The "Thing" (Al-Shay'): Is a name for Master Salman bestowed upon him by Master Al-Mim [Muhammad]. The "Thing" existing today in this abode is the believer realized through the gnosis of Allah, who is righteous toward his brothers in his religion and world, and who desires for his fellow believer what he desires for himself.
The "Nothing" (Al-Lash) is a disbeliever of the faith filthy, straying, and ignorant.
The "Nothing" (Al-Lash): Is the Second, the straying and ignorant, and whoever is of his nature, his partisans, and his followers; he is filthier than a dog or a pig due to his disbelief in Allah, his distance from Him, his opposition to Him, and his denial of His gnosis, as the Exalted said: {Indeed, Satan is an enemy to you, so take him as an enemy. He only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze} (Fatir 6). This is the last of what I intended to mention of his words here.
And I say: He—may Allah sanctify him—has done well, been generous, bestowed favor, and excelled in what he provided us of the clarification of the meanings of these verses. I shall increase for you, if Allah the Exalted wills.
