Allah, Mighty and Majestic, distinguished between salty and fresh waters by His saying: {This is fresh and sweet, pleasant to drink, and this is salty and bitter} (Fatir 12).

The esoteric reality of water is a person... The believing entity (Al-Shay')... The disbeliever is a non-entity (Lash).

The "fresh and sweet" water: It is the gnosis of Allah, "pleasant to drink," which flows from the Gate (Bab) according to some narrations.

Another interpretation has been recorded: the "fresh and sweet" water refers to Umar ibn al-Furat; the indication in this verse is to him. Both interpretations are true, because Umar ibn al-Furat is the Gate (Al-Bab), and he is Salman, and he is Abu Shu'ayb, even if his persons and names are multiple, or if his eras are distant or near in every religion, age, and time. The "Salty Water" refers to the Second Opponent—may Allah curse him—who is Ishaq al-Ahmar and those who followed and supported him among the gates of the Opponent. Just as Master Salman is the Gate of Guidance in every cycle (Kawr) and era (Dawr), even if his names and titles change.

"The inward reality of Water is a Person

Who is the Messenger Guide."
