Similar to this is what he stated to a questioner when asked:

"Regarding that which appeared after it was hidden, and was hidden after it appeared—why did He do that?"

The Scholar said:

"Because Two Testimonies are better than a single testimony, and ignorance may be accompanied by doubt. So when He manifested His power, the hearts that find peace in Him were reassured. He informed them that as He was, He shall be; and as He shall be, He already was. He manifests and shows His power and knowledge however He wills."

Monday (Al-Ithnayn) was so named to indicate the two ranks of the Meaning and the Name, and the manifestation of each of them to him [the Gate].

It was also said: to indicate that his Master's call to him is the Second of Calls, his response to Him is the Second of Responses, and his gaze toward Him is the Second of Gazes. The location of the name of Duality (Al-Ithnayniyya) in numbers is upon the day of Monday, just as the location of the name of Oneness (Al-Wahdaniyya) in the components is upon the Gate (Bab). He was named the Gate because he is the entrance to the knowledge of the Name and the Meaning.
