Just as He made it the first of the days which are manifestations, He made the first of the days to indicate that the attributes He (the Exalted) originated for him through that primacy fall upon the first of His components, which is His Greatest Name. For the manifestation of the Creator (the Exalted) to him is the First of Manifestations, his call to Him is the First of Calls, and the response of the Name to Him (the Exalted) is the First of Responses. Just as the location of the name of Primacy in the numbering of the days is upon the Day of Sunday, its location in the [order of] components is upon the Greatest Name. And the name of Primacy was placed upon him, through which his Meaning is called, as an honor to him and a sanctification for his Meaning.

Prince Hassan ibn al-Makzun (may Allah sanctify him) pointed to this meaning in the prayer for Sunday, saying: "My Master, I bear witness that the Ahad (The Unique) is Your essential Name which You have not bestowed upon any of Your creation. For through Names comes expression, and You are their Meaning.
