Thus, to the Day the night is attributed [to the day]. This is proof that the Day is manifestation and the Night is the occultation of that Day... Until his saying (peace be upon him):

"O Mufaddal, let me add for you regarding the alternation of the night and the day, and the alternation of the day and the night, and the decrease of each and its taking from its companion. That is because the night takes from the day in part of the year, then the day returns and takes from the night what it took from it. This is because between Occultation (Ghayba) and Manifestation (Zuhur) there are ranks that must be occupied.

Occultation is like manifestation even if the duration in the world is prolonged, because in occultation His manifestation occurs in the Upper Luminous World with equality, justice, and the Straight Path (Al-Sirat al-Mustaqim), just as His manifestation was in the Lower World exactly—with no increase in any station and no decrease, as a matter of justice and fairness from Him. That is justice by the truth, so know it, O Mufaddal, and clarify it. And know that the Path of your Lord is great; it cannot be reached through imagination (Tawahhum), but it is only reached through Submission (Taslim) and Certainty (Yaqin)."
