And that were it not for Him being described and seen through attributes, He would not have been called by the name "Al-Ahad," which indicates His transcendence from attributes, because His transcendence (Tanzih) from attributes only occurred after He was seen through attributes. Just as He—Glory be to Him—was not called by the names "the Creator," "the Giver of Death," and "the Fashioner" except after He created, caused death, and fashioned.
