The Name only sees the Essence as its own luminous existence, which is its measure referred to by the saying of the Exalted: {You came according to a decree, O Moses} (Taha 40). It is like the overflow of the light of day from the imagined night. The day is the night and the night is the day, just as a white garment, even if dyed with black dye, remains itself; the colors belong to the dye, not the dyed garment.

Allah the Exalted pointed to this meaning by His saying: {The dye of Allah; and who is better than Allah in dyeing? And we are His worshipers} (Al-Baqarah 138).

What proves and confirms this is the personification of the five prayer times as five persons. In reality, they are one person, though they outwardly differ in the vision of the eyes, just as the times of the day and night differ.

The People of Monotheism (Ahl al-Tawhid) established the personification of the Five Times [of prayer] as the persons of the Name, according to the nature of the existence of the Worshiped God represented by those variations. This is so we may infer that the qualities, descriptions, and names are only applied to His Name and His Veil. It is also to infer that what we see through those qualities is the Ancient Worshiped Meaning, the Great Existing God to whom these attributes do not [directly] attach.
