Opposites; whoever does that, there is no guardianship (Wilayah) between us and him.

And the Commander of the Faithful, peace be upon him, said: It is lawful for you with yourselves, and forbidden for you with others.

And from the book Aqrab al-Asanid, the narration of Abu Shu’ayb: A man came to the Commander of the Faithful, from whom is mercy, and asked him about a man who drinks wine?

He replied, from whom is mercy: "By Him in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, that which he inserted into his belly is greater than that which she inserted into her belly."

And from him, peace be upon him, that he said: "Whoever leaves wine for the enemies of Allah and follows His friends, Allah will give him to drink from the sealed nectar." The inquirer asked: "O my master, what is this leaving?" He said: "Guarding his soul from it..."

It was narrated by Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Sa'id ibn 'Uqdah, tracing it back to Hamran ibn A'yan, from Abu Ja'far Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon them both, that he said:

"Allah never sent a prophet except that in his prophethood was the prohibition of wine which we mentioned and its drinking with the Opposites, and it remained not-prohibited except with the Brothers until the era of Sayyid Muhammad, from whom is peace."
