Exalted—has never ceased overflowing upon His servants, just as the renewal of night and day never ceases. Had they not seen Him, He would not be called the Outward; just as if He—Glory be to Him—were not unperceived, He would not be called the Inward. The night is the day and the day is the night, just as the outward is the inward and the inward is the outward. Manifestation and inwardness have never been except from the aspect of the types of Pre-eternity (Qidam) and Createdness (Hadath), just as the night and day have never been except from the rising and setting of the sun, which result from the fluctuation of the eyes.
And if someone says: If it is neither exoteric nor esoteric, then what is it?
If one asks: "If He is neither Outward nor Inward, then what is He?"
We say: Indeed, Glory be to Him, He has no "How" (Kayfiyya) and He transcends all qualities.
