We learn from this personification what the Exalted intended by this outward representation and imagery regarding the knowledge of the Inward Persons and knowledges. They said: "Indeed, the day of Sunday is for Master Muhammad, Monday is for Master Salman, Tuesday is for al-Miqdad..."
Meaning, the Exalted brought the Gate (al-Bab) into being after the origination of the Veil (al-Hijab) through the medium of the Veil. He brought the Greatest Orphan (al-Yatim al-Akbar) into being after the formation of the Gate through the medium of the Gate, just as He made the day of Monday follow Sunday, and Tuesday follow Monday, and so on.
He made them all days and nights so we may infer that all beings are of two types: Pre-eternity (al-Qidam), symbolized by the inwardness of the Night, and Createdness (al-Hadath), symbolized by the manifestation of the Day. The Exalted said: {The night, We strip from it the day} (Ya-Sin 37), so we may infer from this that the Abstract Soul is prior to the Material Body that is formed after it.
In another aspect, we infer that all creatures see their Creator but do not perceive [His Essence]. The portion symbolized by the Day, which they see, witness, and know, is called the Outward (Zahir).
