This is further shown by his reminding them of what David (peace be upon him) did—actions indicating the negation of the Outward (Zahir) and the establishment of the Inward (Batin)—when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him, and he entered the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest and ate the showbread which it is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and he also gave to those who were with him. Then he said to them: "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath; therefore the Son of Man is Lord also of the Sabbath."

This is to indicate that if Moses' intent had been the Outward Law, our master David would not have done that. It also indicates that the manifestation represented by the Sabbath day and other manifestations—which must be known and responded to—and His appearing in those stations was only for the need of the created beings. The same applies to the messengers and the books as well. This confirms that he never intended by it the outward Sharia as they claim.

Behold also his saying to the one he healed on the Sabbath day: "Take up your bed and walk." This is so the intelligent Gnostic (Arif) may know that the rejection of the outward laws is an obligation upon all of us, not exclusively upon the prophets.
