My sight showed me the Light as fire by night
And in my direction, encompassing all my directions.
Contemplate, O asker, the interpretation of the Lord Christ’s sayings (peace be upon him) mentioned earlier regarding the plucking of grain. Their indications point toward the acquisition of the specific knowledges regarding the existence of the manifestation symbolized by the Sabbath day, which the ears of grain indicate by the beginning of their growth, their increase, their reaching full maturity, the completion of their existence, and then their drying, decay, and disappearance until they perish and become non-existent as they were before their being. Then they are renewed after their non-existence by the beginning of their growth and their return to their first state—through increase, perfection, deficiency, and annihilation. This is due to the need of the created beings, not the need of the Creator.
Likewise, the manifestation represented by these attributes is only for the need of the created beings, not for the need of the Creator.
