If it is indeed the entirety of Eternity, then the obligation is to fast all the days of Eternity, not just one day to the exclusion of others. If it were permissible for us to practice its outward fasting without the other days, it would then be permissible for us to conceal its secret while exposing the secrets of the other manifestations symbolized by the remaining days. It would also be permissible for us to transcend only one of His manifestations—the Exalted—or to transcend the person of the Sabbath day only, or to conceal its secret while exposing the secrets of the persons of the other days, or to glorify it while neglecting the other persons of the days.

Therefore, just as we believe that His manifestations (the Exalted) through the persons symbolized by these days are all one Essence and His days are all one day, we must also believe in the transcendence of all His other manifestations symbolized by the remaining days from names and attributes. We must believe in the transcendence of the manifestation symbolized by the Sabbath day because it is the totality of the manifestations, just as the Sabbath day is the totality of the days. Likewise, it is mandatory for us to conceal their secrets as we conceal its secret, and it is mandatory for us to believe that the manifestations which manifested them to the rest of the persons represented by all the remaining days; they are all one Essence, just as all the days are one day.
