relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful} (Al-A'raf 157).
The Exalted said in Surah Ali ‘Imran: {And [I have come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you some of what was forbidden to you} (Ali ‘Imran 50).
The prohibition of works on the Sabbath, the prohibition of works on the Sabbath.
So, contemplate His reminding them of what indicates that the intent in the Torah is the Inward (Batin) and not the Outward (Zahir) by His saying to them: "What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will he not lay hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable then is a man than a sheep! Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbaths!"
As for the prohibition of work on the Sabbath, He intended by it the prevention of evil deeds and corrupt beliefs. This is because fasting is the protection of the soul from every forbidden thing, not from the lawful things that Allah the Exalted has permitted.
