Were it not for them, after the grace of God, His messengers, al-Khasibi and his students, we would be like others in the general superficial concepts that are stifled by the exoteric and oblivious to the essences.
Therefore, the book (Bayan al-Iradat - Clarification of Wills) is a monotheistic, gnostic encyclopedia whose goal is to elucidate the truths of the Sharia, and it is impermissible for the believers among the men of Khasibi monotheism to neglect it.
The reason for authoring the book?
Habib 'Id al-Salihsays: "I was preoccupied with authoring the book (Al-Jawharah al-Diniyyah - The Religious Jewel), so one of the gnostic brethren and trustworthy believers, who are firm in the steadfast word—namely, Sheikh Dawud 'Badr', may God forgive him and the believers—asked me to author a clear epistle proving the esoteric aspects (Bawatin) of the five acts of worship, and negating the belief in establishing their exoteric aspects (Zawahir) in seclusions (Khalwat) and among the gnostic believers. This is because some of our brethren believe in and religiously practice their establishment in seclusions, while others hold the opposite view"1.
