And he also said regarding this meaning: "If a sayer says to us: What are these names? And what is their specific property (Khasiyyatuha)? And what is the benefit of mentioning them? We say to him: These names are to the universal form (al-Surah al-Kulliyyah) in the proportion (meaning, in the position of) the faculties to the limbs, and the moving, active organs in the particular form (al-Surah al-Juz'iyyah). As for their specific property, every form preserves the order (Nizam) of a genus of creatures. So the creature is the form of the speaking form (al-Surah al-Natiqah) about it, informing of it; and it is the form of the spirit of that creature."

Then he, may God sanctify him, said: "As for the benefit in mentioning them, that is to ease the path for every seeker among the men of this knowledge, that he may reach his desire by them, reach his certainty by them, and perceive his reality by them. For indeed, if the observed thing is expressed by a speaking form, it is closer to direct witnessing (al-'Iyan) and understanding than their informing about it itself. For that reason, they made everything has a form (Surah); so they made prayer a form, fasting a form, almsgiving (Zakat) a form, pilgrimage (Hajj) a form, struggle (Jihad) a form, the Kaaba a form, the House a form, Paradise a form, Hellfire a form, the soul a form, the essence (Jawhar) a form, and the elements a form.
