{for what is better} (Al-Baqarah 61), which is that which sustains and purifies the spirit of faith: the Esoteric Science ('Ilm al-Batin)."
I have presented this interpretation to serve as a proof for what I am building upon its firm foundation regarding the interpretation of this noble verse.
So, observe, O seeker, this verse of exalted status and great significance, which indicates the descent of the Divine Esoteric Science—represented by the Manna and the Quails—from the Rank of Meaning (Al-Ma‘nawiyya) to the Rank of Name (Al-Ismiyya), and from the Name-ness to the Gate-ness (Al-Babiyya), to the Orphan-hood (Al-Yatimiyya), reaching the rest of the Worlds of Light... then to our earthly world.
And [it indicates] the shading of the clouds, which is the exemplar of the celestial existential lights, which are the Extended Shadow for all celestial and earthly universes. It also indicates the wrongdoing of the wrongdoers to themselves through their denial after they were commanded to enter the "City of Gnosis" and to eat from it abundantly as they wish of the esoteric sciences, and to enter the Gate of Hittah (Remission), which sheds from them the burdens and the sins through its celestial and earthly knowledge, as our Master informed by his saying: "I am the Gate of Hittah, I am the Point of the Plan (Nuqtat al-Khitta)."
