Introduction by Sami' Hasan
In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to God who manifested through His Essence, and transcended being homogenous with His creatures, so no eye of one who has not seen Him can deny Him, nor can the heart of one who affirmed Him perceive Him. He revealed Himself to the people of light through light, and manifested to the people of flesh as a human, without ceasing to be or transitioning from His Being, even if He manifested to His witness. And He remains as He was before the revelation in light; He is truly the exact same after the revelation and manifestation.
Praise be to God who appointed for every nation a law and a clear path, as the Almighty said: "{For each among you We have prescribed a law and a clear way}." (Al-Ma'idah: 48). Thus, every nation had its Qibla, its law, and its prophet. And even if their laws differed in the exoteric (Zahir), they all agree upon a single esoteric (Batin) truth, for the esoteric is the ultimate goal. Therefore, the exoteric was a means, a path, and a messenger, while the esoteric was the goal, the essence, and the meaning of all the exoteric aspects of the laws.....
Thus, the Sharia (law), as the scholar said in the Book of Foundations (Kitab al-Usus): is subordinate to the physical bodies.. And when one is liberated from the bodily prisons, the laws fall away, and the firmly established truths remain.
