disbelievers in Allah? He only called them his "brothers" due to the conformity in outward form, not in reality or essence (jawhar), and because of the proximity between them—not by the reality of the Hereafter or likeness in every state.
Likewise, the Commander of the Faithful (may His greatness be glorified) said in Basra, when a man looked at him with a drawn sword on his shoulder: "Our brothers have rebelled against us."
"Allah named them with the names of humans (Adamite); and Adam, in reality, is a designation specific to his name, his spirit, and his veil (Hijab). It is a name applied to the people of obedience because they are in proximity to his human-form saints (Awliya’)."
"It was also narrated that they were called by this name because their bodies are from the surface (Adim) of the earth; thus, the believers are 'Adamite' in their physical structures (Hayakil) but 'Luminous' in their spirits."
In the sixth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew, it is said: {Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory... forever. Amen.}
