As for the esoteric meaning (batin) of the Tree that was forbidden and from which eating was prohibited: it is the authority (wilayah) of the Opposites (al-Adad).

As for the eating from it: it is the listening to their knowledge and the approval of their affairs.

It has been narrated from another perspective that the {Cursed Tree} in the Quran refers to the Umayyads and those who followed their path among the imams of injustice and misguidance.

And just as you have transcended Adam—who is the Name—from being the target of the address regarding disobedience, transgression by eating from the tree, and the fall from Paradise, and instead applied that to Zayd bin Harithah (who is from the world of lights), you must [likewise] transcend Zayd bin Harithah and the seventeen persons—who are the Orphans (Aytam), the Representatives (Nuqaba’), the Nobles (Nujaba’), and so on—and apply it [the address of disobedience] to the world of humans.
