Allah is far exalted above manifesting to His servants through discipline except for a necessary benefit required by justice; and that is nothing but kindness toward the believers, and gentleness, mercy, and wisdom from a Sage, {who intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship} (Al-Baqarah 185). Know that the Prophets and the Legatees have manifested for us an example in everything for instruction and discipline, as the Exalted said: {We have not neglected in the Register a thing} (Al-An'am 38).
It was narrated in the book (Al-Taliqan) on the authority of Salman, peace be upon him, that he saw people delving into some of the traditions of those debating over Divine Decree and Predestination (Al-Qada’ wa al-Qadar). He said to them: “You have abandoned the Quran, wherein is the clarification of what was before you, the mention of what is after you, and the judgment of what is between you. Its judgment is decisive and not a jest; no tyrant abandons it but that Allah breaks him, and whoever seeks guidance in other than it, Allah misguides him. It is the firm rope of Allah, the manifest light, the wise remembrance, and the straight path, by which desires do not deviate, of which scholars do not tire, whose wonders never cease, and whose marvels never perish. It is that in which the Jinn believed when they heard it so they said: {Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone} (Al-Jinn 1-2).
