Also among his explicit sayings is what was narrated in the Liturgy of Allusion (Quddas al-Ishara) from Ghalba bin Ahmad, when he said to him: “O my Master, are You You?!” Our Master, may His might be exalted, replied to him: “Yes, I am the one in whom the Children of Israel believed; and I am the one whom Noah called upon, and I was for him the best of Responders; I am the one whom Dhu al-Nun [Jonah] called upon in the darknesses: {There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers}; and I am the one who called out to Moses: {Indeed, I am Allah; there is no deity except Me}; and I am the one who spoke to him from the tree; and I am the one who sent to Mary the one who breathed into her from . Our Spirit; and I am the one who raised Idris to a high station; and I am the one who manifested Jesus and raised him to Me; and I am the one whom the generations have sought century after century; and I am {the Most Merciful [who] above the Throne established. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil} (Taha 5-6). And I am Allah, there is no deity except Me; to Me belong the Most Beautiful Names, the Supreme Paradigm, the Grand Lordship, and the Supreme Divinity. Every possessor of a spirit speaks by my command; {and there falls not a leaf but that I know it, nor a grain within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is in a clear book} (Al-An'am 59) by My knowledge.
