Regarding what has been mentioned in many reports: if there is not much variation among them, I have restricted myself to what includes their comprehensive meanings and left the rest which carry the same sense, seeking brevity and guarding against excessive length.

Indeed, my interpretation (taʾwīl) of these verses and narrations within this epistle has its meaning derived from the interpretations found in the Books of Monotheism (Kutub al-Tawḥīd) concerning the meaning of Personification (al-tashkhīṣ), praise, blame, the permissible (al-taḥlīl), the prohibited (al-taḥrīm), the command, the prohibition, and so forth.

I shall now provide for you a healing clarification—one that will not be obscure to the weak, let alone the learned—which is the names of the degrees of the ranks of the Macrocosm (al-ʿālam al-akbar). These demonstrate that all these worldly names mentioned by Allah the Almighty in His Book do not intend anything except Persons (ashkhāṣ) whom Allah has commanded us to know and obey, and Persons whom Allah has commanded us to blame, avoid, and whose [false] sciences He has forbidden us from.
