Furthermore, he would also be obliged to deny the Gospel and the Quran, for it has been mentioned in the sixteenth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew that Christ is the Son of God, by his saying: 'When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked his disciples, saying: 'Who do people say that I, the Son of Man, am?' They said: 'Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.' He said to them: 'But who do you say that I am?' Simon Peter answered and said: 'You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God!' Jesus answered and said to him: 'Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter (Petros), and on this rock I will build my church.'"

Contradicting this statement among the Quranic verses is the saying of the Almighty:

{Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."} (Al-Ikhlāṣ: 1-4)

Indeed, he who holds fast to the outward (ẓāhir) of these two statements must necessarily deny one of them, or otherwise reject the outward and establish the inward (bāṭin).

He must also believe that Mary is a female and possesses what women possess, according to the saying of the Almighty:
