He must also believe in the mountains, the trees, and the beasts, because of the saying of the Almighty in Surah al-Ḥajj: {Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth, and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, and the beasts...} (Al-Ḥajj: 18)."
"And that is because the mountains, the trees, the beasts, and everything that prostrates to Allah are [thereby] praised (maḥmūdūn).
Furthermore, he must believe in every one of these vanishing worldly things because of the saying of the Almighty: {And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Allah] with His praise} (Al-Isrāʾ: 44). And the thing which exalts [Allah] the Almighty with His praise cannot be anything but praised (maḥmūdan).
He must also believe in the affirmation of the marriage and the error attributed to Prophet David (peace be upon him), according to the word of Allah through his tongue and the tongues of the two litigants: {Indeed, this is my brother; he has ninety-nine ewes and I have one ewe; so he said, "Entrust it to me," and he overpowered me in speech. [David] said, "He has certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes"} (Ṣād: 23-24).
So reflect, O brother, upon this depiction and examine its meaning with your thoughts; it will become clear to you that it is a metaphorical depiction (taṣwīr majāzī), not a literal one (lā ḥaqīqī).
