Similarly, His saying in the Torah, in the twenty-sixth chapter of the Book of Leviticus:

'Do not make for yourselves idols, nor set up for yourselves a carved image or a pillar, nor place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am the Lord your God.'

Likewise, our Master Muhammad (PBUH) broke all the idols. An instance of this is when our Master, the Commander of the Faithful (Amīr al-Muʾminīn), placed his feet upon the shoulders of the Prophet (PBUH)—at the very spot where Allah placed His hand when He greeted him on the day of the Ascension (al-Miʿrāj)—in order to cast down [the idol] Hubal the highest from the roof of the House, and the narration regarding that is famous.

All of that serves to demonstrate the rejection of the outward images (al-ṣuwar al-ẓāhira).

Indeed, all the People of Monotheism (Ahl al-Tawḥīd) have reached a consensus that these outward acts of worship are images [intended] to point toward the inward meanings (al-maʿānī al-bāṭina).

This is an instruction, a warning, and a declaration for us to reject the belief in their outward aspects, which—as previously mentioned—are the opposites (aḍḍād) of their inward realities. They have even named some of them 'idols' (aṣnām) to signify this [rejection].
