(Khabar) being narrated from us and attributed to us, his mind does not accept it, so he denies it and declares as an unbeliever the one who brought it. And he does not know that the narration issued from us and was attributed to us, thus he would have exited from our allegiance (Wilayah). So return [the matter] to us, and do not reject [it] against us.'

He said: So the one who rejected his brother and denied him sprang to his feet and said to him: 'O my Master (Mawla), [I seek] pardon (Iqalah), indeed I shall never return to the likes of it.' He said: 'May God forgive you; ask your brother to pardon you and return to your Master, and do not return to the likes of it ever again.' He said: So he fell upon his brother's foot kissing it and asking his pardon, so he pardoned him. He said to them: 'Thus be forever; lawful (Halal) for you among yourselves, forbidden (Haram) for you with others than you.' Then he disappeared from them, and they did not see him.
