Contradictory sayings also regarding the praise and condemnation of wine.
Among the contradictory statements as well—regarding the praise and condemnation of wine—is the saying of Lord Christ (PBUH) in the Gospel:
"Drunkards, fornicators, and shedders of blood shall not enter the Kingdom of God."
And his saying in praise of it in the Gospel of Mark:
"And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them and said, 'Take, eat; this is my body.' > Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it. And he said to them, 'This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many. Truly I say to you, I will no longer drink of the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the Kingdom of God.' Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives."
The intent of his saying: "Which is shed for many," means that he did not manifest the crucifixion except for the sake of affirming the Inward (al-Bāṭin) to the believers and manifesting concealment (al-talbīs) upon the disbelievers—and they are "the many."
