"Jesus heard that they had cast him out, and when he had found him, he said to him, 'Do you believe in the Son of God?'"
He answered and said, "Who is he, Lord, that I may believe in him?" Jesus said to him, "You have seen him, and he who is speaking with you is he!"
What contradicts this is the saying of the Almighty in Surah Maryam:
{And they say, "The Most Merciful has taken a son." You have done an atrocious thing. The heavens almost rupture therefrom and the earth splits open and the mountains collapse in devastation—that they attribute to the Most Merciful a son. And it is not appropriate for the Most Merciful that He should take a son. There is no one in the heavens and earth but that he comes to the Most Merciful as a servant.} (Maryam: 88–93).
The intent of these statements is the transcendence (tanzīh) of Allah—Glory be to Him—from father, son, and the lineages which the Successors (al-Awṣiyāʾ) and the Worlds of Light manifested in human manifestations (al-ẓuhūrāt al-bashariyya), as the Almighty pointed out by His saying:
{Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, Nor is there to Him any equivalent."} (Al-Ikhlāṣ: 1–4).
