Whoever claims to know Allah by the Inward (Batin) has disbelieved (kafar). But whoever persists in the practice of both the Outward and the Inward shall never regret."
The answer: Indeed, as long as the believer does not know the Inward meanings of the religious laws, nor the meaning of their variation in phrasing, nor the Interpretation (Ta'wil) of Permissibility, he remains an "ordered slave" ('abd ma'mur) within the grasp of captivity and ownership; he has not exited his Ihram [ritual consecration], nor are the shackles and burdens dropped from him, nor are the beasts of cattle (bahimat al-an'am) made lawful for him."
It is not permissible to untie the knot represented by the Sharia (exoteric law) by rejecting it among the adversaries (Al-A'dad).
I say: It is also not permissible to untie the Knot—which is symbolized by the Outward Sharia—by rejecting it among the Opposites (Al-Addad) at any time, neither for the one who is learned in its Inward (Batin) nor for the one weak in expression. This remains the rule until its Tier unties it—meaning until it is rejected by the one who commanded it, who is the Mahdi, who [in essence] is Muhammad the Messenger—peace be from him. That shall occur at the time of his appearance and his manifestation through "Unveiling" (Kashf), the broadcasting of the Inward Religion, and the open rejection of every religion other than it.
