The answer was also mentioned in the Book of Gnosis (Kitab al-Ma’arif), stating:
'Whoever drops any of the commanded Outward religious laws from himself, without having [the authority] to untie the "contracts" (al-uqud) mentioned in the Book of Contracts, and drops from himself anything he was commanded to do, has indeed untied the knots that their Tier had tied.'
The law of Moses abrogated the law of Abraham—and he [Moses] is he [Abraham]. The one who changed and substituted the law of Moses and untied his knot was Jesus—and he [Jesus] is he [Moses]. The one who changed and substituted the laws of Jesus and Moses and untied their knots was Muhammad—and he [Muhammad] is Moses, Jesus, and Abraham.
However, it is not permissible for anyone to untie the knot of Muhammad or substitute his law. Indeed, the knot of Muhammad bin Abd Allah shall not be untied except by Muhammad bin al-Hasan al-Hujja (the Mahdi).
Likewise, Our Master al-Sadiq [the 6th Imam]—peace be from him—said: 'Whoever unties a knot before its Tier unties it, the beasts shall maul him, the wolves shall eat him, and the vermin of the earth shall tear him apart.'"
