Abu Dharr would suffer hardships and remain patient. These whom I have mentioned to you are the noble angels of the All-Merciful; had any of them wished to turn the earth upside down, he would have done so.
Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, said: {Let not the believers take the disbelievers as allies rather than the believers. And whoever does that has nothing with Allah, except when you take a precaution (tuqatan) against them} (Al-Imran: 28).
Among the sayings transmitted regarding the obligation of establishing Dissimulation (Taqiya) is the saying of the Almighty in Surah Al-Kahf:
{They said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure on condition that you make between us and them a barrier (sadd)?" He said, "That in which my Lord has established me is better [than what you offer], but assist me with strength; I will make between you and them a rampart (rdm)."} (Al-Kahf: 94-95).
It is mentioned in the book Al-Safi, on the authority of Al-Sadiq—peace be upon him—regarding the saying of the Mighty and Majestic: {I will make between you and them a rampart}, he said: "[It is] Dissimulation (Al-Taqiya)."
