is a meaning that purifies the one who perceives it and saves him.
The persons of its days are radiant, and the one who knows them
is transcended from the obligations that weary him.
Every day is like a person, like husks upon
a kernel, and in the kernel is that which suffices the one who seeks it."
Its meaning is: The Gnostic (‘Arif) of the Inward Persons (Al-Ashkhas al-Batina) is transcended [exempted] from the Outward Obligations (Al-Takalif al-Zahira). He—may Allah sanctify him—mentioned that the Kernel (Al-Lubb), which symbolizes the Inward (Batin), renders unnecessary the Husk (Al-Qishr), which symbolizes the Outward (Zahir); meaning that he who obtains the eating of the kernel has no need to eat the husk.
As he—may Allah sanctify him—pointed to this meaning in his Yamaniyah [poem], saying:
And he dove into the depth of a surging sea
Whose waves cast forth jewels.
Sciences therein have no end, Inward realities that render the Outward unnecessary.
Thus, in the doctrine, he became a Sham'uni.
